Friday’s Forecast: Rain Likely Across the Carolinas

A cold front is moving into the Carolinas, bringing showers and an isolated storms for Friday.

Showers are expected to develop during the overnight hours under strong southeasterly flow. It will be very humid, allowing pockets of heavy rain to develop in the afternoon hours. It will not rain all the time; however, there is a chance of showers from the morning through the evening.

The NAM computer model future radar shows the showers and storms developing during the overnight hours and lasting through the day Friday.

The showers and storms may produce periods of heavy rain, but severe weather is not expected on Friday due to the lack of energy. Most areas are expected to see a quarter of an inch to half of an inch of rain on Friday.

Portions of northeast NC may miss out on the rain tomorrow; however, rain will move in this weekend. More rain is expected through the weekend, especially on Sunday and Monday as another system moves into the Carolinas.
