The National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center is forecasting temperatures above average for the entire United States this upcoming fall season.
Meteorological fall consist of the months of September, October, and November and begins on September 1 and ends on November 30. Astronomical fall will occur later this month.
The forecast from the Climate Predication Center keeps above average temperatures across the entire United States.
Above average temperatures look to continue in the Carolinas as we move into the fall season. The forecast has a 40% chance for above average temperatures from the mountains to the coast.
As for precipitation, above average precipitation is expected across the southeastern coastline. In matter of fact, coastal areas of NC have a 40% chance of receiving above average precipitation during the fall. Fall is our normal dry season, so this may be welcome news to help prevent fire issues in the southeast.
